Arête Purpose Consulting Opens in Franklin

A firm specializing in strategic planning and professional and personal development has relocated to Franklin, Indiana.

Arête Purpose Consulting offers strategic planning consultation, wisdom work groups, professional training and life coaching. The office is at 48 West Madison Street in Historic Downtown Franklin.

Partners, Elizabeth Johnson, LCSW, LMFT and Jeffrey Owen, founded Arête Purpose in 2017 in Greenwood as a strategic planning firm. They added other consulting services this year.

"We first became interested in moving to Franklin when facilitating the strategic plan for Discover Downtown Franklin. We wanted to be part of this genuine community and do our work based here," said Owen. 

Johnson and Owen have long-time connections to Franklin and Johnson County.

Johnson, a native of Greenwood, leads Wisdom Work Groups on topical discussions, writing classes, advanced workshops and online content. She was the Founding Partner and Clinical Director of Stillpoint Healing in Greenwood, where she provided clinical psychotherapy, creative groups and restorative family therapy. She also is a published author and accomplished artist.

Owen leads the firm's strategic planning services. He also is a partner at Clever Dogs Media, a digital marketing firm in Franklin, and was a long-time local newspaper publisher and editor. He has served in several board leadership positions in local nonprofits, including past president of United Way of Johnson County and Leadership Johnson County. Owen currently serves on the board of the Johnson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The partners' past clients have included Discover Downtown Franklin, the Franklin Chamber of Commerce, Norris Choplin Schroeder Law, Disability Legal Services of Indiana, the Johnson County Public Library, the Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County, Kappa Delta Pi International and the former Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce.
